Taking Care of YOU
It pains me to see we moms of children with autism not taking care of ourselves. And I can be just as guilty as the next one. While I did go raw to take care of me, there are other areas as well that need to be taken care of as my girl Susie Shina from Be Fit Enough talks a bit about here in this video we shot today.
So, are you ready to take the small steps that make a BIG difference in taking care of you so that you can take care of those you love? If so, let me know what you start doing in the comments below.

Love your advice Sunshine! We certainly do not take care of selves as we should. For me, my son takes most of my time after work and we’re both loving our floortime together. “me” time and time with other family members gets pushed aside. Still need to work on that. If it wasn’t for smartphones I would not have the time to interact with u on twitter! Keep up the good job!XOXO!
I hear ya Gina! For me, I tend to do it either right before the kids wake up, or just before bed. Nothing fancy, just a little time for me to breathe. lol I also find that practicing deep yoga belly breaths throughout the day help to recharge my batteries while reducing my stress levels.
And yes, smartphones ROCK!
Hi Sunshine,
This is such an important topic, and is a priority issue when developing treatment plans for autism. I think every intervention should have parent stress management as a priority, not just focusing on the child. Keep up the great work
