However, for more and more of us, it has become Autism Awareness Life.  Because we live, love, laugh, & learn with autism a part of our every day life.  I for one could not be more honored with this sacred duty of caring for my child with autism.  And I truly do see it as such, a sacred duty.  A trust in me by my Creator to do what he put me here to do, to care for this beautiful, loving, hyper-aware, special child.  He and his siblings have changed and shifted my life in ways I could have never foreseen.

To start this month off right, I wanted to share this video I’ve come across recently after someone (pretty sure it was Elaine Hall), posted it to Twitter.  My son is verbal, but had never expressed his love for the ocean quite the way this girl has, & it has given me a deeper understanding and appreciation not just for Justin’s love of the ocean, but my own draw to it as well.  So much so, that I’ve started calling the ocean “The Great Equalizer”.
