4 Times It's Time to Rebrand Woman Black Hair and Red Lipstick

4 Signs It’s Time to Rebrand

There are no two ways about it: Branding and re-branding, it’s a PROCESS.

I wish I had faster news for you than that, but the fact of the matter is, once you embrace that it’s a process and stop wishing it was a magic pill…

And instead of starting with the last things first – you focus on what matters MOST first…

That process becomes a fun, fulfilling journey that gets to grow and evolve as you and your business do – without feeling like you need to burn the ships at the shore each time it’s time to implement something new.

So to see if it’s really a time for a re-brand, or if you just need a small tweak or two, I’ve put toether this short list for you:

🔥 See if your business fits the signs below 🔥

Sign #1: You’ve pivoted and the old message no longer serves your current business direction, audience, and goals.

If you’ve gone from fashion to life coaching, or business to healing, or creative to business mogul – the message is going to naturally morph with your pivot.

Trying to cling to the old message to appease those who were following you before, hinders your chances of calling into your brand’s atmosphere those who will be best served by your newest ventures.

This doesn’t mean that you’ll lose the entirety of the audience you’ve already built…

What it does mean is that you need to let them in on what’s going on with your business so that they can make an informed decision.

Most will surprise you if you let them!

Sign #2: The last time you branded was started with a Pinterest board, font and color choices

I am PRO Pinterest boards, colors and fonts when it comes to branding…

That being said, they’re the pieces you focus on AFTER things like values, beliefs, and core messaging.

Doing them first puts the proverbial cart before the horse and will have you feeling the need to rebrand each time a new trend comes out, or the winds turn direction – which hurts your bottom line overall in the end.

You're running a business not a contortionist show

Sign #3: The brand you currently have was based on who you thought you HAD to be in order for people to buy from you, instead of who you and your business naturally ARE so is no longer calling in your ideal clients and customers.

This one puts a bee in my bonnet like very few others.

You’re running a business, not a contortionist show.

If you’re consistently finding yourself feeling more like a pretzel, and less the like example, creative, contributor you are – it’s time to look at who you were told you had to be, how you’re showing up as THAT, and start to look inward into who you and your business truly ARE.

Sign #4: You based your brand off of quiz results from that quiz you took years ago, but everything you were told didn’t take into account the nuance you and your brand bring to the table.

If I had a dime for every person who said “I don’t resonate with my results” from a quiz, I could fill up a wagon of dimes.

“I got Jester but I’m not that funny, and I’m no one’s fool!”

I hear you love loud and clear!

Each of the 12 main brand archetypes have threads that you can pull that lead you closer to your answers.

But the quizzes don’t go that deep.

So you’re not the court’s fool/entertainer.

But are you a clown/class clown?

Are you the comedian that everyone is hoping will show up to the part because your jokes have the room falling out of their chairs?

Are you the trickster that breathes life into the ruler types – reminding them that life is a game, and not to take themselves so dang seriously all the time?

There’s nuance to navigate here.

If you’d like to check out a post about the overall vibe of the Jester archetype – you can find that HERE.

And quizzes, while they CAN be fun and informative, just don’t go that deep.

Same for 5 day challenges.

Both are fun, both can give you SOME insight, but navigating the nuance requires that you put more skin than that in the game.

P.s. ***I  wanted to say Federal Reserve instead of “wagon of dimes” on that last point, but honestly hyperbole isn’t even needed for it.
